The popular saying "birds of a feather flock together" reflects
the working of yet another Law of Creation - the Law of Attraction
of Homogeneous Species!
This Law stipulates that similar species will always attract one
another, whereas dissimilar species will repel each other. It is
because of this Law that we can inwardly connect only to those in
whom we find similar attributes. But there is always an automatic
separation among those who cannot find any mutual homogeneity. We
find the manifestations of this Law in every sphere of society
where groups of people form with similar goals, aspirations and
ambitions. From the lowest to the highest classes, this Law works
in a separating or sifting manner and brings into being the great
diversity in our human race!
Thus smokers always tend to associate with smokers, gamblers with
gamblers, debauchers with debauchers and so on! But devout people
with high and noble goals also find one another, and through their
like-mindedness they are able to achieve so much that is good and
uplifting for our race. This Law helps to separate every species
according to their inner qualities. For instance, we have the
fundamental divisions of the human, animal and plant species and
among these, many further classifications.
These classifications can only take place through the inner nature
of the species concerned. Since the human being possesses a
spirit-core and the animal possesses an animistic core, they
manifest as two different species, which separate even
outwardly in Nature, because they cannot find an inner connection
with each other. We should note in passing that plants and other
stationary objects do not have an inner motivating core of their
own, which is able to animate them like the human and animal
species.
This Law also plays a very important role at the period of
incarnation and is thereby very closely linked to the Law of
Karma. Even karma itself is subject to classification by this Law
and can therefore be regarded as a "species". Hence there is
both luminous and dark karma, i.e. good and bad karma, although in
reality, all karma that strikes us, whether joyful or sorrowful,
is good, because it serves to refine us and helps us
recognise our own personal faults, and thereby we can improve
ourselves in the desire for spiritual self-consciousness. Human
spirits with "good karma" can only generally incarnate among
families which have already formed good karma for themselves. The
same is true for spirits with a darker karma. It works as an
automatic "ethereal" process in the world of the beyond.
In this way, the prospective parents are able to influence the
attraction of the human spirit during pregnancy so that only those
who are similar in nature to them will be attracted. In other
words, the mutual homogeneity of the karma and inner spiritual
nature of both the parents and the incarnating spirit form the
basis of the attraction-process, which determines the kind of
spirit that may enter a certain family.
This gives rise to the impression of "spiritual heredity", where
children are assumed to be inheriting the karmaic fruits of their
parents' deeds. But this only appears to be so; in reality, it is
only the outworking of the perfect Laws of Karma and of the
Attraction of Homogeneous Species.
There are certainly exceptions to this process but, again, these
exceptions do not go beyond the boundaries of these Laws. Such
exceptional cases - where a spirit bears a completely different
nature to that of its parents - occur when the parents allow a
third person to influence the attraction of the spirit during
incarnation. If this person is constantly in the vicinity of the
prospective mother, it may well happen that a spirit inwardly
similar to this third person incarnates, instead of one similar to
the parents. This is why sometimes a "black sheep" does manage
to enter an otherwise "basically good" household. But if a
prospective mother guards herself during pregnancy, there need not
be any fear of this taking place! All that she needs to do is to
be watchful of her surroundings and to ensure that nothing or no
one may approach her in a way that influences the pregnancy.
If we delve closely into the implications of this Law, we will see
yet again, the Perfection of the Almighty God in all these
happenings, because through this Law much karma could be absolved.
As a simple example, let us consider parents who have committed
many wrong deeds in this life or in a previous one. During the
mother's pregnancy they would attract a human spirit who has
probably done similar things in his own past earth-life. This dark
karma may manifest itself in some way during his new incarnation,
either as a child, in his formative years or much later, e.g.
through an accident, an illness, a handicap etc. But the sorrow
resulting from seeing the suffering of their child would already
help the parents atone for their own wrong-doings and thus free
themselves from the sins of their past. As they care for their
child and experience the emotional suffering themselves, the pain
would gradually shake them out of their own former karmaic burdens
to help them atone for their wrong-doings. But all this takes
place without they themselves necessarily having to experience the
actual physical suffering. If they come to a deeper
understanding of the origins of such karma, they can even help the
child to come to a recognition about its own faults (from the past
life) so that it can free itself from its own karma. This is then
an immense blessing for all concerned!
This is but one example of how the Law of Attraction of
Homogeneous Species works in perfect harmony with the Law of Karma
for the benefit of mankind. Naturally, we cannot rigidly restrict
ourselves to this and other similar examples, because there are
many "permutations and combinations" of the different threads of
fate for each individual, and these manifest differently in this
world. Therefore this should be regarded as just an example. In
our own lives we will have quite naturally experienced other kinds
of combinations of such "threads of fate".
In studying the Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species, we will
recognise many other ramifications as well, especially the
fundamental difference between the human and the animal species
mentioned earlier. The human spirit originates in the Spiritual
Part of Creation, while the animal originates in the Animistic
Part of Creation. These two species are completely different from
one another and cannot strongly attract each other for the purpose
of incarnation. It is therefore worth considering the question of
transmigration from the point of view of the Law of Attraction of
Homogeneous Species.
Because of the lack of homogeneity, it is absolutely impossible
for a human being to be born in his next life as an animal. Such a
belief goes against the Divine Laws, because there is nothing
homogeneous in both the animal core and the spirit of man that
would help to form a connection that permits an incarnation to
take place. The human spirit in the beyond can only be attracted
to human beings on earth, whose physical bodies with their genetic
makeup and personal circumstances are specially configured to
allow only a human spirit to return to the earth.
The human spirit needs a special kind of physical body that can
help its own spiritual qualities unfold in the World of Matter.
The requirements for this include a special genetic structure
found only in human bodies, the earthly intellect and the thinking
faculties, the ability of the body to speak and thereby
communicate in a manner that can help it on its spiritual path and
last but not least, certain kinds of blood-radiations that are
unique to the human species incarnated on earth. The composition
of the blood influences its radiation and therefore also the kind
of human spirit incarnated in the process. The spiritual
significance of the blood has hitherto been completely overlooked
by science, but since the Grail Message already gives complete and
comprehensive explanations about this process, we shall not go
into any further details here. The animal race, in its present
state of evolution, cannot provide the human configuration which
is fundamental for a true spiritual incarnation.
Compare this to the process of amalgamation between two metals.
This can only take place when the ambient conditions of
temperature and pressure are optimal. If any one of these
conditions changes, albeit slightly, then an alloying becomes
impossible and the two metals must separate. This process,
well-known to every student of chemistry, is but a reflection of
the Eternal Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species. Only under
the right mutually homogeneous conditions can there be a perfect
attraction and bonding.
As with amalgamation, the human spirit is only able to unite with
the kind of physical body that can best offer it the opportunity
to work in Creation. The various animal species on earth do not
offer the human spirit the ability to do this. Man's task in
Creation is much more advanced than that of the animal! This does
not mean that he is valued more than the animal, for all are of
equal worth before the Almighty. This only means that man is able
to achieve far more than the animal by virtue of the
abilities of his inner being.
Hence, regarding the different cores of the human being and the
animal, the Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species then becomes
the Law of Repulsion of Heterogeneous Species that prevents
transmigration!
It is unfortunate that ancient Indian philosophy, with all its
wise teachings of the Law of Karma, has - in certain quarters at
least - allowed itself to be corrupted by the doctrine of
transmigration. Transmigration cannot take place because the
bridge between the two fundamentally different kinds of species is
simply lacking. The human spirit cannot return as a frog in one
life or as a chimpanzee in the next!
We, who are seeking the Truth, must think deeply about this
process and free ourselves from all wrong teachings that denigrate
the original pure Knowledge given to us by the Light. Only then
can we continuously experience the Perfection of God operating in
Creation!
