If we know that we must seek the Truth, then the next obvious question is
how exactly do we go about it? In this regard, there is no definite answer.
One cannot say "do this, do that, but not that". Such suggestions would
turn into rules that are already rigid in themselves. However, as seekers
of the Truth, we still do need some kind of guideline that we
can follow without falling into the danger of rigidity, which latter, of course
becomes a form of indoctrination and therefore, religion.
The first obvious step is to recognise that if the Truth does exist, then
It must come from a Source. For there is no Truth without a Source, just as
there is no life without a source. Science, for instance, declares that
the sun is the source of all life on this planet, whether directly or indirectly.
This is true, however, only as regards the physical bodies which are only
forms of matter. Consciousness, on the other hand, is something different,
having a source of its own.
In a similar manner, Truth Itself has a Source and we must be able to
appreciate this fact. Also given that we all have the ability to find
the Truth, but not that we inherently already possess It, we can infer
that the Truth does not really dwell within us. Otherwise, living within
the Truth would be a natural part of us already. But this is not the case.
If we can appreciate that the Truth exists and has a Source, then we can
extend this further and state that the Source of this Truth is the Source of Everything,
since the Living Truth Itself is the Ultimate. And following this thread of thinking,
we can simultaneously acknowledge the Truth as GOD, the Creator of Everything!
This is a different conception of the Almighty, inasmuch as it is possible to
form such a conception. But when we have made this recognition, then perhaps we
are on the right path in finding the Truth. For finding the Truth means to find
GOD, to find the Source of Everything!
We can take this concept even further. If we believe that GOD is Truth and likewise
that Truth is GOD, then we can immediately assume, without the slightest danger of
presumption, that the Truth, like GOD, is PERFECT beyond comparison. Hence, if we
go searching for the Truth, and keep our eyes and ears wide open during our search
for That Which is Perfect in every way, then we will find the Truth!
